The French Army under Napoleon

Napoleon's forces campaigned across Europe from the early nineteenth century until the emperor's final defeat in 1815. French armies became known for flexible corps organisation, massed artillery and a varied cavalry arm, while infantry formed the core of campaigns from Austerlitz and Jena to the Peninsula, Russia and Waterloo.
