The Seven Weeks' War

The decisive Battle of Königgrätz, also known as Sadowa, was fought on 3 July 1866. Prussia's use of the breech-loading Dreyse needle gun and effective operational movement contributed to victory. The war ended Austrian leadership in German affairs and paved the way for Prussian-led German unification.
