What's included?
- 6 infantry figures
This kneeling loading and firing set represents Spanish guerrillas making use of cover during the Peninsular War. The low poses are ideal for ambushes and defensive positions where irregular fighters exploit terrain rather than form conventional battle lines.
Historical background: fighting from cover in the Peninsular War
Guerrilla warfare in Spain depended heavily on terrain and surprise. Stone walls, rocky slopes, vineyards, olive groves, wooded tracks and narrow village streets could all give local fighters places to conceal themselves and attack French troops moving along predictable routes.
Unlike regular infantry trained to manoeuvre in formed battalions, guerrilla bands could spread out and use whatever protection the ground offered. Kneeling positions make particular sense for fighters firing from behind walls, banks or roadside cover, where a lower profile reduced exposure during a brief exchange of musket fire.
These figures are suited to the moment before and during an ambush: some men loading while others maintain fire. Combined with standing guerrillas, they create a less uniform and more natural irregular force.
Use the set for mountain passes, farm compounds, village defence, road ambushes and attacks on French supply columns or patrols.
Available in multiple scale variants. Figures are supplied unpainted and produced in our resin mix for sharp detail and durability.
At Battle Honours 3D, we pride ourselves on the precision and authenticity of our true-scale figures and buildings.
