I hope you all had a great Christmas and have started the New Year in good spirits. Hopefully no one has set themselves any unrealistic New Year’s resolutions. I hope we’ll all still be rolling plenty of sixes alongside the ones!
I wanted to take the opportunity to share a proper business update and give you some clarity on where Battle Honours 3D is right now, what’s been happening behind the scenes, and where we’re heading next.
The end of 2025 was a huge period for us. Black Friday was our strongest one to date and saw a significant increase in demand compared to previous years. That level of support was genuinely appreciated, and it shows how much the brand has grown over a relatively short period of time.
Operationally, we actually performed very well during that surge. We were able to dispatch at a pace that matched our previous peak periods, which tells us that our production setup is fundamentally solid. However, the increase in demand did mean that a backlog developed, simply because more people were ordering than ever before.
Since returning after Christmas, I’ve been focused almost entirely on clearing outstanding orders and getting production fully back up to speed. A large number of orders have gone out over the past week, and as of today I’ve responded to all emails and messages. If you’ve contacted us recently, please double check your inbox and spam folder.
It’s also important to be open about the Christmas break itself. International dispatch cut off in mid December, and we didn’t return to full production until early January. That resulted in a short period where nothing was being printed. This was the first proper time off I’ve taken in around eighteen months, and while it did impact turnaround times, it was necessary. Running a business like this long term requires stepping back occasionally to reset properly.
I’ve come back with a clear head, a lot of motivation, and a strong focus on pushing Battle Honours 3D forward in a more structured and sustainable way.
Looking ahead, Gordon and I now have dedicated time set aside specifically for development. That means continuing to expand existing ranges, uploading new sets, and bringing entirely new periods to the range. We already have a full Seven Years’ War range prepared, which is waiting on test printing before release, alongside other projects planned throughout the year.
One area we’ve spent a lot of time reviewing is production efficiency, and that has led to a difficult but necessary decision regarding 6mm and 10mm buildings.
These models were never designed to be produced in resin, and as demand has increased, they have consistently caused the longest delays. Failed prints, repeated rework, and the amount of hands on time required has made them disproportionately demanding compared to the rest of the range. That time cost directly impacts everything else we produce.
Because of this, we’ve taken the decision to stop producing 6mm and 10mm buildings for the time being. This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, and it may well be revisited in the future. Right now, though, our focus has to be on building the business properly, rather than spreading ourselves too thin and slowing everything down.
We work extremely hard, but growth means making tough choices. At the moment, employing additional staff isn’t viable, especially with uncertainty around upcoming UK business legislation and the need to keep the company financially stable during quieter periods. Protecting the long term health of the business has to come first.
Over the next year, our priorities are clear. You can expect continued new releases, a refreshed and improved website, stronger and more consistent social media output, and a wider revamp of how Battle Honours 3D presents itself. Our goal is to offer better models, better coverage, and better quality than anywhere else on the market, including ranges that simply aren’t available elsewhere.
All of this will continue across our core scales, from 15mm and 20mm through 1/72, right up to 75mm.
Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding over the past few months. Battle Honours 3D exists because of the community around it, and I’m genuinely excited about what we’ll be bringing out over the course of 2026.
Thanks Michael, Gordon, Jordan.
