Club night and an opportunity to christen my new snow mat I picked up from Tiny Wargames stand at Cavalier Last Sunday. Based on one of the RFR scenarios from the RF website, I transposed the scenery to the Ardennes and basically it was a loose free for all. Just bring your toys and play (within reason, Jr Gen wasn't allowed his sturmtiger or E100 - yours toys are safe at my house JG 😁)
Basically, two battalions of US Paras were defending, dug in, supported by a couple if AT guns (57mm and 3inch), an M36, M10 and 7 Shermans, mostly 75 but with a 76mm chucked in the mix.
The Germans attacked with armoured infantry, 5 Tigers, a Panther and several Stugs
The Germans captured one of the three objectives but US supporting artillery were very effective under Alex and DS' direction, whilst Makes' Sherman 75s proved to be very effective.
The German advance ground to a halt and with their infantry support battered and bruised, the game was called for the Yanks.
First time on the table for Dave's US Airborne acquitted themselves well. A definite case of "Nuts"
