The Napoleonic Wars are generally dated from 1803 to 1815, although the military and political upheaval grew directly from the French Revolutionary Wars. Napoleon's armies fought successive coalitions across central Europe, Iberia and beyond. The Peninsular War of 1808 to 1814 saw British forces campaign alongside Spanish and Portuguese allies, while the final campaign of 1815 ended at Waterloo on 18 June.
