The Second Schleswig War of 1864

The campaign included fighting around fortified positions and the Danish defensive line at Dybbøl. Prussian forces stormed the Dybbøl redoubts in April 1864, while operations also extended to Jutland and the surrounding islands. The Danish defeat altered control of the duchies and contributed to the chain of events that led to the Austro-Prussian War of 1866.
