Despite a few casualties among our friendly units, the Germans struggle with poor reinforcement rolls, resulting in a relatively uneventful initial turn for them. Seizing the opportunity, the Russians push more units forward, aiming to capitalize on the situation. In the center, an ambitious move to overrun a tank sets the stage for a decisive confrontation.
The narrative takes an unexpected turn as the Russians secure a rare win on the initiative roll. This fortunate outcome, coupled with an excellent roll for reinforcements on the southern front, becomes a turning point in the battle. With a daring double advancement, the Russians make significant progress. The southern tanks manage to outflank and eliminate two formidable German units, bringing them closer to the coveted crossroads objective.
The northern front witnesses a similar strategy, with tanks advancing to engage the enemy closely. Despite instructions not to worry about losses, the Russians gain an upper hand, delivering an impressive ambush before the newly arrived German tanks can retaliate. The center holds, but our fellow Russian player suffers significant losses.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, my session comes to an end, and the next phase unfolds without me. Initiatives play a crucial role, leading to the Germans bringing in substantial reinforcements. The relentless pushback in the north and center ultimately seals the Russians' fate, with the Germans claiming victory after capturing and holding key positions.
