Battle Honours 3D 54mm WW2 Figures Compared Alongside Thomas Gunn, Britains, First Legion and War Park

Battle Honours 3D 54mm WW2 Figures Compared Alongside Thomas Gunn, Britains, First Legion and War Park

One of the questions collectors often ask when looking at new 54mm WW2 figures is how they compare beside established 1:30 scale ranges such as Thomas Gunn, Britains, First Legion, and War Park. Thanks to Gary Hodges, we now have an excellent side-by-side comparison showing exactly that.

Gary recently shared several photos of his painted Battle Honours 3D 54mm WW2 figures displayed alongside figures from Thomas Gunn Miniatures, Britains Deetail, First Legion, and War Park. The comparison gives collectors and painters a much clearer idea of scale compatibility, sculpting style, and overall display presence across multiple popular 1:30 scale manufacturers.

The Battle Honours 3D figures shown in these comparison photos are positioned on the left side of the line-up. Alongside them are examples from Thomas Gunn, Britains, First Legion, and War Park, making this a genuinely useful visual reference for collectors already invested in 54mm or 1:30 scale WW2 collections.

Gary’s paintwork also deserves real credit here. The late war German camouflage patterns have been handled especially well, with subdued tones and realistic field colours helping the figures retain a grounded appearance. Dot camouflage can quickly become overpowering at this scale, but the softer application here works extremely well. The British infantry figure also provides a nice contrast beside the German uniforms, particularly when viewed alongside the Thomas Gunn and Britains figures in the group.

One of the most interesting aspects of these photos is how naturally the different manufacturers work together in a shared display. Many collectors combine Thomas Gunn, First Legion, Britains, War Park, and other 1:30 scale brands within the same collection, particularly for WW2 displays, dioramas, and cabinet presentation pieces. These images show that Battle Honours 3D figures fit comfortably into that wider 54mm hobby space.

The figures themselves feature a mixture of dynamic combat poses, command figures, and observation poses that work well for both gaming and display purposes. The binocular pose in particular has a very strong reconnaissance feel, while the advancing NCO adds movement and aggression to the group. The officer figure in the greatcoat creates a natural focal point within the line-up and helps tie the display together visually.

For collectors searching for 54mm WW2 figures compatible with Thomas Gunn, First Legion, Britains, or War Park, these comparison images are especially useful. Scale compatibility is often difficult to judge from studio renders alone, so seeing painted figures photographed directly beside established brands gives a far clearer impression of size, proportions, and visual presence.

As more hobbyists continue mixing Battle Honours 3D figures alongside Thomas Gunn Miniatures, First Legion, Britains, and War Park collections, customer comparison photos like these become increasingly valuable to the wider community. They help painters, collectors, and gamers make informed choices about expanding existing armies, display shelves, and WW2 diorama projects.

A huge thank you again to Gary Hodges for sending these photos over and allowing us to share them. Customer-painted miniatures are always one of the best ways to showcase the character and detail of a range, particularly when shown beside other respected names in the 54mm and 1:30 scale hobby.

If you have painted Battle Honours 3D figures alongside Thomas Gunn, First Legion, Britains, War Park, or other 54mm WW2 figures, we would love to see your photos as well.
